❮ B2 ❯ KON'NICHIWA POW
JAPAN Ready for your champagne powder adventure in Japan? We take you to Niseko or Naeba on the island of Hokkaido, where skiers enjoy an accumulated snowfall of 13.7 meters per season… yes, this is not a typo… meters! Hokkaido’s perfect weather phenomenon delivers year after year. The cold winds in the north travel from Siberia, pick up moisture from the Sea of Japan, and dump perfect powder on Hokkaido´s resorts. The deepest snow is often found outside of the resort boundaries. Niseko has a backcountry system in place that allows skiers and snowboarders to access backcountry terrain with the help of resort lifts. This is unique to Niseko, as local governments have given their blessing in support of this system.
As anywhere in the world, it is paramount to have proper avalanche safety equipment before venturing into the backcountry. This includes a beacon, probe, and shovel in your backcountry pack, as well as the knowledge of how to use it properly.
❮ B3 ❯ MAPLE LEAF POW
CANADA In the land of beavers, grizzly bears, Canadian Moose and maple leaf trees, we organize your trip throughout Canada’s wilderness. Starting our adventure in cowboy capital Calgary, we will then make our way via Banff to Lake Louise, and continue onwards via Canyon Hot Springs to Revelstoke mountain resort which features the longest descent in North America (over 1700 meters of vertical glory). Fun fact - it holds the Canadian record for an accumulated snowfall of 24 meters per season.
A visit to the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies - UNESCO World Heritage Site Jasper National Park, is also a top option. From the frozen oasis of the Maligne Canyon, waterfall ice climbing, ski touring along the peaks of the Continental Divide, ice skating on Mildred lakes to a fat biking adventure around Pyramid Lake – Jasper National Park will amaze you with its pristine beauty and adventure possibilities.
